Our History
Founded in 2015, our club was developed by a bunch of local dads who simply wanted their children to enjoy football in a fun, friendly and pressure-free environment. So they set up a soccer school which enjoyed great success, and out of which the first junior teams were born under the name of "Saddleworth Strikers." In 2021, we embraced a name and badge that better represent our local heritage, becoming "Saddleworth FC."
Recently, we also rebranded our soccer school to "Saddleworth FC Football Academy," ensuring a seamless footballing journey for our players from age 4 to 16. This evolution reflects our commitment to both our roots and our future growth.

Our Future
The future of Saddleworth FC is bright and full of promise. With a revitalised academy and ten teams spanning ages U7 to U16, we are poised for continued success. Recent changes in our committee have infused new energy and focus, allowing us to address growing pains and return to our core values. By prioritising the experiences of our players, coaches, and parents, we aim to foster thriving teams at every age level. We believe that by excelling in these areas, our club will naturally grow and continue to be a cornerstone for developing young talent and uniting our community.

Sponsorships
Our operations depend heavily on the support of our generous sponsors, who provide essential funding for match day and training kits. We believe that the best sponsors are local businesses invested in our community, particularly those catering to children aged 4 to 16 and their parents. We are always seeking to expand our sponsorship base, ensuring that our partners receive significant branding and awareness in return for their support.

Partnerships
Our partnerships are integral to our success. We collaborate closely with Saddleworth School, utilising their pitch for training and academy sessions and engaging with students, particularly those in years 8-10, through the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) volunteering program. This initiative has been highly successful, with many participants continuing on as junior coaches and developing skills in communication & leadership. Additionally, we partner with OCL Active for their "Mini Kickers" sessions and work with local schools and nurseries to create a strong feeder system for our Football Academy.
